August Point score!
Hi guys,
Great to surf East Corrimal for a change of venue with reasonably smooth contestable waves most of the day, the afternoon low tide reducing the scoring opportunities a little, with a lot of waves closing out on the low tide bank.
As always thank you to everyone for making multiple trips up the beach with their own boards etc, as well as the club gear, a long carry both ways but just limiting the gear to actually what we needed made the burden a little less anyway.
Andrew Wilson and Mal Robbo did the heat draw and sign on for us as well as their share of tallying, along with Kev Napper, Baz, Locky, & Jarrett , thank you to all you guys for doing so much of these duties for us each month, it is greatly appreciated indeed!
Thank you to Mark for getting the meat each month for us and cooking the barby, it was nice at day’s end especially feeling a little washed out after multiple trips up the beach and back, to find a nice barby ready, also thank you to Mark Harris for bringing along the gear trailer for us each month while Andrew is still out of action.
I thought the standout surfer was Scotty, back surfing on progressive equipment so well, I had forgotten how fast and smooth Scotty could be, for me, Scotty is most suited to progressive surfing and great to see you back surfing so well!
Great to see Brian Bull back surfing after his shoulder surgery and long recovery, also Andrew Farrow is just getting back into the water after his broken foot episode and hope fully competing with us again next month.
A big thank you to Gary Hoban for looking after our points for the past year and a half, a very critical aspect of any club is the tally and recording the points table.
As a committee we are looking at a few things, venue, location and type of presentation we have this year probably late November, the structure of the December teams fun day and looking at a new major sponsor for the club, hope fully we will have some updates to you by the September Point score.
Good luck to all the guys competing at the National Old Mal Titles at Crescent Head in September also.
