Bill’s Babble for May

MAY POINT SCORE WRAP UP!

Well, our May Point score was probably the best of the calendar year so far, really clean conditions nice 3-4 ft waves and fairly consistent for most heats all day. Thank you for everyone who contributes each month, it seems I highlight similar people each month but the fact is they help out and need to be recognised for their efforts.

Thank you to Andrew Farrow for bringing the gear trailer along and doing a stint at tallying, Andrew Farago & Andy Goldie for doing the heat draws and progressions, other guys who did tallying during the day were Jarrett, Baz ,Mel, Mark Harris ,Hendo and Scotty, and thank to Scot and Hendo for doing some great coaching with the judging during the day also.

Baz always brings the food and drinks along, helped cook the barby along with Kev and Benny, thank to all you guys as a club we really appreciate your efforts each month. Great to see Dale surfing again, Andy Goldie while not surfing yet is well on the way to recovering from a very frustrating back injury, I can really sympathise with Andy, hope you get back in the water soon mate. Scotty is improving his looks again with a bit of plastic surgery, I think it’s called a face lift, and looked like a very professional Surgeon must have performed the face enhancement for Scott!

Thank you to the guys who have completed trophies for the Classic and Presso, Jarrett & Corey 6 each , Baz 6, Tom 6,Dale 12, with Scotty, Dave Edwards & Shawn still to complete theirs, I have done some as well, can anyone with a perpetual trophy please make sure you bring it along at the June point score, that’s a must do. The Classic entry’s are out and Mark Harris has the presso tickets, so please get yours early as not to be disappointed!
Hendo has organised the Classic t-shirts for us also, thank you mate, I will keep you posted with dress theme etc regards presso night.

Great to see the lady backs and the groms surfing so well, one of the really rewarding things about being in a long board club is to see the progression of people’s skills and development regardless of their age or competitive aspirations.

June point score is our AGM meeting, time to elect committee positions for the next competitive year, so anyone wishing to stand for a position or nominate someone else please do so on the day, we will not be surfing until all positions and duties are filled, so do not hold back, get in have a go others on the committee are there to help and support you, (Mostly).

On behalf of myself and this year’s committee I would like to extend our very sincere thanks and appreciation for all the positive input and support we have received from within the club this past year.

All the best, kind regards,

Bill.
