Nick Farago (Corrimal) tore apart the opening round of the Loggers division locking in three scores in the excellent range. Farago came out all guns blazing and was able to lock in a 7.83 (out of a possible ten points), an 8.83 and the events only perfect ten-point ride. Consequently, Farago had his fellow opponents chasing an 18.84 two-wave combination to knock him from the winning spot. Farago also managed to notch up a runner-up finish in the opening round of the Open Mens Longboard.
“I didn’t think I would get scores like that,” said Farago. “I think that scoreline is one of the best I’ve ever had. The waves have been really fun here at Boomerang and everyone seems to be pretty happy with this years location. My goal is to hopefully make the final by the Sunday, but I’m just taking it one step at a time at the moment.”
