Since its establishment in 1992, Layback Longboarders has consistently maintained its identity as a close-knit, family-oriented club with a storied history of competitive success. Our dedicated members have achieved numerous State and Australian titles in both modern and traditional old mal surfing, solidifying our position as one of the most formidable clubs in the country.

 

Our diverse membership includes esteemed 60’s surfing legends, talented shapers, enthusiastic grommets, and their supportive families, spanning three generations of surf enthusiasts. We are a collective of individuals of all ages who share a deep passion for the ocean and the sport of surfing.

 

To ensure the quality and efficiency of our monthly surf competitions, our membership is limited to 86 members. This limitation is necessary to avoid overcrowded heats and time constraints, especially during the winter months. Each year, we offer annual membership renewals exclusively to our current members during December and January. If openings become available due to non-renewals, the committee will consider new applications on a case-by-case basis.
