September Point score!
Hi guys, our September point score was held a couple of weeks later than normal due to avoiding father’s day and clashing with the National Old mal titles at Crescent Head. We were certainly lucky with the waves and southerly conditions all morning, with mid tide as mostly the case, producing the best and most consistent waves of the morning.
Thank you to all the guys who were there early to set up, I arrived around 6.15am and the set up was almost done, plenty of guys tallied during the day, Baz, Mal Robbo, Dale, Greg Scott, Nathan, thank you to our catering crew Nathan, Locky and Mark Gordon for organising food drinks etc. And as always Andrew Farrow looks after the gear trailer for us and Dale washes our rash shirts each month, thank you to all you guys for your efforts, they are very much appreciated by us all!
The barby was cooked by Mark and Dave, all smooth sailing until it decided to self ignite, made for some interesting viewing for us bystanders!
Scotty continued on his winning form from last season with a good win in the firsts, and young Ethan and Nathan surfing more confidently and consistent every point score, well done guys great to see. Hope fully we will see Mark Harris back surfing next month, Kev Napper has had his ear operation so a speedy recovery to you mate, Brian Bull goes in next month for major shoulder operation and will be out of action for 6 months, so all the best to you Brian for the op and recovery, does this mean with age we are starting to fall apart!
A big congratulations to Nick Farago for his 2 wins at the National old mal titles, the Log and under 40s Greenough Divisions, and to Dale and Chris Hughes for making the Open Final, well done guys!
The Palm beach entry’s are out for those thinking of competiting at that comp, usually a good one to go to, not always good waves, but usually a good vibe and a great show and shine.
