APRIL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Hi Guys,

The decision to move the club championships back a month due to poor surf and a strong wind change predicted, certainly proved a good choice as the surf for all divisions was fabulous, and the standard of surfing reflected the quality waves to be enjoyed.

Let’s start off by giving Dale a huge wrap and a big thank you for organising and running the day for us, it really was a top effort mate and certainly showed us all how far you have progressed within the club to volunteer to take ownership of something so important as the Club Championships.

A big thank you to all the guys who helped tally during the day, Dale, Andrew Wilson, Hoppo, Kev Napper, Nathan and particularly Baz, who I think just about part tallied most heats and helped with the presso as well.

A very generous gesture by Mark Pavitt in kindly donating the steak and sausages for us, and cooked them also for us all to enjoy, thank you indeed Mark that was very kind of you and greatly appreciated by the club!

As always Andrew Farrow brings the gear trailer along every month, a job a lot of us would not prefer to do, but Andrew always has everything spot on for us and a big thank you for your commitment to that role and the great service you provide to our club, especially with a hand injury you had just had an operation on, you could not surf but still gave up your day for us, thank you indeed Andrew.

We had new member surf with us for the first time Aaron, we all noticed Aaron’s ability and neat casual style very quickly, I laughed at a comment I heard about him surfing that the back section of the board was a waste of time for him as he never spent any time there anyway!”

Congratulations to our 2015 Club Champs:

A Grade – Jarrett Napper

B  Grade –Andy Goldie

C  Grade – Mark Pavitt

As mentioned at the start of the day unfortunately for the club Dave Edwards is heading north to Queensland to live, what a real loss Dave is to the club; a sponsor of our web site, but generously will continue to do so for us, a great committee member and contributor to the club, and above all a great guy all round, the type of guy you want involved in any club, regardless of its type someone looking to give for the right reasons.

All the best to you and your family Dave and hope to see you from time to time during the year.

The next point score is the 3rd May, happy surfing until then.

Bill.
