May Point Score!
Hi guys,
Well the May point score was certainly something out of the box, big clean powerful conditions and plenty of water movement making things tricky at best!
It really showed the skill levels of our quality big wave riders within the club ( unlike yours truly), most guys prefer bigger waves and there were plenty of waves , both rights and lefts for all heats.
Thank you to everyone for setting up in the morning, Mal Robbo and Andrew Wilson doing our sign ons and heat draws for both rounds. Some guys who helped with the tallying were Andrew Wilson, Locky, Jarrett; and Baz who is always on hand to help out where he can.
I thought the two standout surfers in the old mal were Jarret and Locky who took on some big waves and drops on boards that really are difficult in big conditions, so well done to you both!
For me, maybe others have seen guys catch bigger waves, but Andrew Farago took off on the biggest wave I have seen ridden at Bellambi, a huge left, heading for the back of the pool or the rocks, at least 8ft and surfed it with confidence and style until the close out section at the end, really gutsy to even think about the taking off, well done Andrew, anyone watching gave out plenty of hoots as you took off and rode the wave successfully.
Thank you to Andrew Farrow for bringing the gear trailer along, and helping Mark cooking the barby, also Locky for his catering duties, so thank you and well done guys, we all appreciate your efforts each month.
The Winter Classic Entry Form’s are out, so get you entry in early, there is limited spots in divisions, so do not miss out on your preferred choice.
