Hi Guys,
The October point score for those who attended was held at East Corrimal on the lefts at the reef. Easties’ Board riders held their club round on the adjacent bank to us, so it was a bit of a surf fest of competitors and a continual trail of guys carrying gear up and back along the beach.
The conditions were really good for the first few rounds, especially the old mal who had the pick of conditions it seemed, from then on, a mixed swell and rising tide during the morning made conditions really messy and rippy mostly, not ideal but some good surfing never the less.
Our numbers were really down this month for whatever reason, so a really big thank you to all the guys who made multiple trips up and back carrying the gear, unfortunately with small numbers it only heightens the work load for those who attended.
Plenty of guys helped with the tallying, Scotty, Baz, Greg Scott, Mal Robbo, Andrew Wilson who along with Mal does the usual heat draws and progressions during the day thank you guys.
Thank you to Andrew Farrow for bringing the gear trailer along as he does each month for us, and a great barby cooked and organised by Mark Pavitt, which at day’s end, was most welcome indeed!
I thought the two Andrews, Farrow and Farrago were standout surfers of the day, especially Andrew Farrow who is waiting for a knee replacement, surfed very strongly with powerful round house cutbacks.
Congratulations to the guys who did well at the Banana classic held at the Farm last Saturday, it was the 30th year of the comp, so a great achievement in itself, Scotty 3rd in 0/40s, Andrew 4th 0/40s, Jarrett 4th in the old mal, Nick a 2nd in the open and a 1st in the log division, Hendo did his usual outstanding job as head judge.
Young 17 year old Fred Stoven–Bradford from Gerringong won the old mal, showing us all how it should be done, great effort from a young surfer.
Remember to bring all the perpetual trophies back at the November point score please, also the guys who are generously making trophies for the presso, bring them along also please.
Do not forget to vote online for your surfer’s surfer, most improved etc, you have a month to do that, so get your votes in. If you did not recieve an email from Greg then send him an email for the link to voting page.
The stomp entry’s are out, and I distributed them on Sunday but will bring them along in November also.
